"Cut the Quarantine” campaign for Locks of Love is a winner

One of the most prestigious competitions for creativity in graphic design, Communication Arts’ Design Annual has been a beacon to the industry for over 60 years. This year, our Cut the Quarantine campaign with Locks of Love was featured as a winner in the Motion category.

The animated video is a call to donate the extra inches of hair grown during the pandemic to children suffering from hair loss.

When we created Cut the Quarantine, our main visual objective was to transform the task of cutting off 10+ inches of hair into something less daunting. So we created a short cel animation to explain the logistics of donating to the nonprofit. Drawing inspiration from classic storybook artists, the style is simple, approachable and fun.
