Investing in our Community

Initiatives by The Equity Council

At Hook, we firmly believe in the power of giving back. Since our founding, social responsibility has been a core component of our agency's mission. And every year, we strive to make a meaningful impact in our community through pro bono work and charitable donations. By 2027, our goal is to invest $500,000 in underserved communities through monetary donations and charitable giving efforts.

Since 2022, we’ve donated over $100,000, planted 41,000 trees, cleaned up 16,000 pounds of ocean and river plastic, provided over 4,000 hours of pro bono work to non-profits, mentored over 200 students and early-career creatives, and shut down one rogue gravel mine. Most recently, in 2023, we donated to numerous organizations, including:

  • ACLU
  • Campaign Zero
  • Drag Defense Fund
  • Marsha Johnson Institute
  • Maui Strong Fund
  • Maui Humane Society
  • Monterey Park Victims Fund
  • National Network of Abortion Funds
  • Neutral Zone
  • Ocean Clean Up
  • PFLAG
  • Team Trees
  • Transgender Law Center
  • World Central Kitchen

Hook's Equity Council, an employee-led collective promoting systemic equity across the agency, helps guide Hook's charitable giving efforts by identifying and investing in organizations of judicial, social, and economic impact and directing funds to organizations during urgent times of need, such as organizations for mutual aid.

As we strive towards our $500K goal, we’re honored to continue doing our part to build a brighter future for the next generation.
